Froggo¶

Living in the froggiest of planets, swamps, forests, and caves undisturbed by human-kind, the Froggo dwelled peacefully wherever a body of water lay nearby.

Biology and Appearance¶

Froggo were an amphibious, bipedal species that were capable of breathing both air and water. Their powerful legs allowed them to hop, which allowed them to move faster, and they were innately talented swimmers. Their long tongues could be used to grab things quickly.

Most Froggo spoke Frog, which was a language consisted of clicks and groans. It was a rare language that could be learned and spoken by humans.

Society and Culture¶

"Froggo" was only a colloquial name for the frog-like anthropoids of the Outer Rim, with the true name of their species unknown. Similarly, while their planet of origin is not commonly known - something they prefer to keep to themselves - it is likely to be near the Tatoo system or Kol Iben system in the Outer Rim. They can be occasionally be seen travelling these systems, and their offspring, known as egg batches, require sublight space travel in order to survive.

While seemingly dainty and fragile, the Froggo demonstrated a deep empathy for all sentient beings they encountered, biological or otherwise. They were naturally gifted linguists, typically highly technically competent, and some were a surprisingly decent shot with a blaster.

Names¶

Most Froggo names, as understood by the wider galaxy, were a coarse translation from Frog to Galactic Basic, due to the limited interaction with, and understanding of, the race as a whole.

Froggo Traits¶

As a Froggo, you have the following special traits.

Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and Charisma score increases by 1.
Age. Froggo are hatched from eggs and mature by age 8. They usually live up to 70 years at most.
Alignment. Froggo tend towards the lawful side of the alignment chart, due to their kind-hearted nature and willingness to help. Chaotic Froggo are not unheard of, however.
Size. Froggo average 4 feet to well over 5 feet tall, and weighed up to 90 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of grey.
Amphibious. You can breathe in both air and water.
Swimmer. Froggo are more aquatically attuned than other species. You have a swimming speed of 30 feet.
Powerful Legs. Froggo have great legs for jumping. Your jump height has an additional 10 feet for high jumps and long jumps.
Long Tongue. Your tongue is long and prehensile, which you can use to grab and carry items, or retrieve small, stowed objects carried on you person as a bonus action.
Insightful. Froggo have a powerful natural empathy. You have advantage on Wisdom (Insight) checks to determine emotions.
Languages. You can read, write and speak Galactic Basic, Frog, and two other languages of your choice.
